Cheryl and Liam Payne's sorrow behind fresh start for son Bear

Liam Payne and former flame Cheryl have had a rocky ride since they welcomed son Bear in 2017 - when Liam was just 23. The pair split one year after having baby Bear, following two and a half years together.

Since their separation, the former couple - who have 10 years between them - have been co-parenting Bear, yet fans have rarely seen the former One Direction star with his son over the past seven years.However, recently Liam posted a cute snap of his little boy, giving followers a rare insight into Liam's family life, as writes the Mirror.

The picture was shared on Liam's Instagram page and showed Bear in a yellow jacket as they looked at a billboard advertising his dad's new music.

The caption read: "I want to be on a billboard one day, Daddy."Now, an insider has opened up on a tough few years for Liam, including rehab and mental health struggles - but he is keen for a fresh start."We don't see a lot of Bear on Liam's social media but I think he wants to prove to Cheryl that he's getting his life together," the source told OK!"He really wants to be a good dad and with Cheryl now going back on tour with Girls Aloud, she'll be busier than ever and won't be at home as much."Liam, who previously said he'd been left with "scars" after finding fame so young and "hit rock bottom" when the band broke up in 2016, admitted it was Bear's arrival that signalled the end of his relationship with Cheryl.The pair first met when he auditioned for The X Factor at the tender age of 14 and in February 2016, Liam and Cheryl confirmed they were dating.
