Check out the first trailer for this ’30s-style shooter ‘Mouse’
nme.comMouse, has just dropped its latest gameplay trailer, this time riffing on Popeye and showing off some new mechanics.Mouse‘s first trailer was released 11 months ago, May 2023.
The footage we’ve seen so far has “a retro rubber hose animation style”, but the Disney inspiration is clear to see. From the name, Mouse, to the white gloves on the hands of the protagonist, and now the new bicep-inflating can of spinach.Mouse is an FPS “inspired by classic FPS and noir films”.
It follows a private detective investigating the seedy goings on in the underbelly of a city in the grips of corruption. The ’30s inspiration really comes through in the enemy design.
The lanky mice are reminiscent of the gangsters of the era. You can almost hear them telling you to beat it.There’s also something very BioShock about the whole thing.
