Che Adams insists the Scotland squad are determined to do the nation proud – by blasting their way beyond the group stage in Germany. The frontman is counting down the days to the Euro 2024 opener against the hosts in Munich next Friday.
And the Southampton hitman insisted Scotland will not be going there to make up the numbers. Steve Clarke’s men have been hit with a tough group with Switzerland and Hungary up after the Germans and have also suffered a series of injury blows with Lyndon Dykes, Aaron Hickey, Nathan Patterson and Ben Boak all ruled out.But Adams is convinced the county can be confident the side will be busting a gut to go where no Scotland side has gone before by reaching the knockout stages.
The 27-year-old said: “Everyone just loves being part of it and we’re determined to pull that shirt on and make the nation proud.“We have to aim to do as well as we can.
Getting out of the group would be massive for us – and it’s possible for this squad. We have to take each game on its own and try to pick up as many points as possible.
