Ellise Shafer Charli XCX has dropped two new singles, “Club Classics” and “B2b,” from her upcoming sixth album “Brat.” The avant-pop singer also revealed the official release date for “Brat” — June 7 — alongside the record’s 15-song tracklist.
With artwork that appears to feature the back of fiancé and the 1975 drummer George Daniel, “Club Classics” and “B2b” are a pair of rave-ready bangers.
On “Club Classics,” Charli delivers her signature speak-singing over bouncy production, giving Daniel a shout out as well as the late artist Sophie: “Yeah I wanna dance to me/ I wanna dance to A.G./ I wanna dance with George/ I wanna dance to Sophie.” “B2b” is more melodic, with a trance-like beat that begs to be played in a sweaty dancehall.
The new singles follow the release of “Von Dutch,” Charli’s first offering from this album cycle. She then dropped a remix of the song featuring a satisfyingly blood-curdling scream from Addison Rae and additional production from longtime collaborator A.G.
