Stephen Robinson insists Charles Dunne is the perfect answer to St Mirren’s defensive injury woes. The 31-year-old, who is closing in on 300 career appearances and was recently linked with Premiership rivals St Johnstone, has re-signed for the Buddies on a short-term deal until January.
Dunne left in the summer after three years at the SMiSA Stadium but has been training with the first-team squad as he plotted a move abroad.
That plan has fallen through, however, and Saints have swooped as Alex Iacovitti battles back from a serious hamstring injury and Richard Taylor nurses a hernia.
Buddies boss Robbo told the club website: “It works for both parties on a short-term basis. “We get a very experienced SPFL player that we know can come in and hit the ground running.
