A charity legend is dedicating his latest mission to Scotland’s greatest ever boxer and his dementia battle.Jock McInnes MBE, who has raised millions through a string of gruelling challenges over the past two decades, is preparing to take on the Thai jungle in honour of his good friend, Ken Buchanan.Ex-military man Jock, who has scaled mountains and crossed deserts, visits the sporting superstar, 77, every fortnight to reminisce about their almost 40-year friendship.And the 66-year-old, from Scone, Perthshire, said special memories of the former world lightweight champion will be a driving force as he tackles the jungle in aid of a boxing charity close to his pal’s heart.Jock said: “Every step when I’m thinking ‘why am I doing this?’ I’ll remember I’m doing it for Kenny.“At least if I’m thinking about that I’m not thinking of the hot sweaty jungle, the blisters and wee beasties crawling up my kilt.”Jock, who previously served in the Black Watch, Royal Highland Regiment, was honoured by the Queen with an MBE in 2014 for his services to charity having dedicated the last 20 years to his causes and raising more than £2.5million.The grandfather-of-two has taken on some of the most treacherous terrains in the world including walking through the Sahara and Gobi Desert and climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Elbrus in Russia.His next challenge will see him visit remote hill tribes in northern Thailand and explore the Tham Lod, a 1666 metre deep cave, by bamboo raft - all while wearing his trademark kilt.Former Black Watch soldier and keen boxer Jock will be raising cash for the Ringside Charitable Trust, which provides aftercare to fighters struggling mentally, financially or with addiction or health issues.Leith-born Ken, who
