Adam Hills couldn't help but cheekily share thoughts on the famous faces avoiding the queues to see the Queen lie in state. The comedian was back at the helm of The Last Leg on Friday night after he made a decision not to go ahead with the planned programme last week.
The late-night comedy show had been pulled from Channel 4's schedule last Friday the day after Queen Elizabeth II's death was announced by Buckingham Palace.
Releasing a statement at the time, Adam said on Twitter: "We’ve decided not to do an episode of @thelastleg tonight. It just doesn’t feel right." But opening last night's edition of The Last Leg, Adam said he wanted to "offer condolences to anyone and everything affected by the death of the Queen." He then explained the decision to cancel the previous week’s instalment, saying the "night after the Queen’s death wasn’t the right time." "We’re going to try and do that tonight and celebrate the Queen’s long and happy reign in the right way," Adam declared on the programme.
During the show, Adam, his co-stars Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker, and guests Judi Love and David Harewood, discussed the queues snaking their way around the capital as hundreds of thousands of people spent hours waiting to pay their final respects to the Queen as she lied in state in Westminster Hall.
