Cha Cha Slide creator DJ Casper dies after long cancer battle

DJ Casper, real name Willie Perry Jr, has passed away at the age of 58, his wife has announced.The pop music legend, who was best known for his iconic party hit the Cha Cha Slide, was diagnosed with kidney and liver cancer back in 2016, however no cause of death has yet been announced.

His wife Kim confirmed the sad news to ABC7, sharing that he passed away surrounded by his loved ones. In his last TV interview, DJ Casper told the same outlet about his battle with cancer, which had caused him lose a lot of weight and left him struggling to eat.

He said: "I used to weigh 236 pounds, and I think I’m about 60 pounds less. "If you know me, you know I’m not going to stop.

I’m going to continue to go. I’m going to continue to go until I can’t go." He also shared a message to those also battling cancer: "Anybody that's going through cancer, know that you have cancer and cancer does not have you.
