Centenarian credits her long life to a daily dose of chocolate

A Lanarkshire care home resident who celebrated her 100th birthday credits a daily dose of chocolate to her long life.Betty Fairley celebrated her 100th birthday last week at Croftbank House in Uddingston with a generous gift of 100 of her favourite chocolates from her local Aldi store, and a special visit from the provost.Born to Arthur and Euphemia Adie on February 23, 1924, their family was made complete with the birth of sister Reba on August 21, 1926.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

They moved to Johnston in 1960, and to Bothwell in 1966, where they lived happily until John’s death in 1988.Betty moved into Croftbank House, where her sister had been living, in 2019 and has celebrated several birthdays with her family and friends since then.
