Holders Celtic survived an almighty fright to outlast Livingston 4-2 and book their place in the Scottish Cup semi finals thanks to dazzling Daizen Maeda's hat-trick.
This a fixture which has often played out in cagey fashion in Glasgow's east end but observers were treated to a contest which was a heady mix of attacking skill and slapstick defending.
Maeda scored twice to put the holders ahead but the Lions roared back on both occasions through Daniel MacKay and the brilliant Tete Yenghi.
But that man Maeda wouldn't be denied as he tapped home the winner with minutes remaining before Kyogo got it on the act. A downcast day was instantly brightened once Willie Collum blew his whistle in Glasgow's east end.
