Naman Ramachandran Executive producer and composer Joe Hisaishi and the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) are readying a stage adaptation of Hayao Miyazaki’s beloved 1988 Studio Ghibli film “My Neighbor Totoro.” It will open at London’s the Barbican this fall in collaboration with Improbable and Nippon TV.Hisaishi was the original composer of the film. Written by playwright Tom Morton-Smith (“Oppenheimer”) and directed by Phelim McDermott with production design by Tom Pye, costumes by Kimie Nakano, lighting by Jessica Hung Han Yun, and movement by You-Ri Yamanaka, the production will feature puppetry created by Basil Twist and music from Hisaishi’s score in a new orchestration by Will Stuart, performed live with sound design by Tony Gayle. Artwork for the adaptation includes a hand drawn title by Toshio Suzuki, producer for Studio Ghibli, who was involved in the planning and production of the original animated film.

Kelly Lee Owens has shared a further preview of her imminent new album ‘LP.8’ – hear ‘One’ below.The producer and musician will release the follow-up to August 2020’s ‘Inner Song’ digitally this Friday (April 29) before a physical release follows on June 10 via Smalltown Supersound.Last month, the album was announced alongside the release of two new tracks, ‘Sonic 8’ and ‘Olga’.New four-minute song ‘One’ is an eerie cut in which Owens repeats the line: “You are the one.” Watch the visualiser for the new track below.‘LP.8’, as a press release explains, was “born out of a series of studio sessions” in Oslo and “created with no preconceptions or expectations: an unbridled exploration into the creative subconscious”.The record was made along with the avant-noise artist Lasse Marhaug, who has previously worked with the likes of Merzbow, Sunn O))) and Jenny Hval, and inspired by such artists as Throbbing Gristle and Enya.“For me, ‘8’ meant completion – an album that will ripple infinitely with me personally,” Owens has said of ‘LP.8’.Kelly Lee Owens is set to tour in the UK, Europe and Australia this summer – you can see her upcoming live dates below, and find UK tickets here.

Future has revealed details of his new album title and cover, and has shared a clip of a collaboration with Kanye West.Epic Records shared a video clip on Tuesday (April 26) that features his collaboration with West, who is now legally known as Ye.  It comes after footage of the pair shooting a music video together emerged online earlier this month.“Cross me so much, I got nails in my hand/City on fire… City on fire,” West can be heard rapping on the track.Future also revealed that his album, which arrives on April 29, would be called ‘I Never Liked You’.Check out the clip and the album artwork below:
