David Turnbull says he is ready to aid Celtic in their Premiership title bid after his comeback from injury. The midfielder from Wishaw appeared as a substitute in Sunday's 2-0 win over Ross County as they moved six points clear with four games to go, facing Rangers next. After a strong first half of the season brought nine goals and seven assists, the 22-year-old suffered a hamstring injury in December's League Cup final with Hibs.He has returned to a Hoops side flying at the top of the table, and there's been time for reflection, never worrying about not playing again this term.Turnbull says he's ready to start for Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou after a difficult spell watching for the Motherwell academy graduate. He said: “It has been good to slowly but surely get back in and get some game time and I just want more of that now.

I feel ready to start.“I think I have been ready for a few weeks now but the team has been doing so well I have had to bide my time.

I just need to take my chance when it comes.“The injury was tough to take at the time but I did everything on time. I always expected to be back for the run-in and I have stayed on track with everything.

I never feared my season was over.“I believe in my own ability and the way I played and how involved I was at the start of the season was great.“Things happen and now it is just about pushing to get back into the starting XI and doing the best I can when I am in there."Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onTwitter via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInstagramfor the latest sports news, pictures and video.
