Lyon have reportedly booted out an offer from Celtic for Mahamadou Diawara. The 19-year-old made his breakthrough with the Ligue 1 outfit last year and reports in France claim that the Premiership champions have made a move to try and bring him to Parkhead before Friday's deadline.
Arne Engels is expected to come in the door as the natural successor to Matt O'Riley - after the Danish international broke the Scottish transfer record when he moved to Brighton.
But the Augsburg man isn't the only man on the agenda for Brendan Rodgers with Foot Mercato report that Celtic have made an offer to take the midfielder on loan this season.
It is stated that the deal on offer would have included an €8m option to make Diawara’s move to Celtic Park permanent at the end of the campaign.
