The cheeky Bundesliga website has written off Celtic once again – but they've dialled it back a touch since confidently declaring Leipzig would down the Hoops.Bayern travel to Glasgow to face Brendan Rodgers' team this evening and the hosts are 6/1 outsiders to win on the night – and as much as 8/1 to qualify against the high-flying Bundesliga leaders.
It would be one of the upsets of the tournament were Celtic to shock them, and having come through the league phase with flying colours, there is a confidence emanating from Parkhead.
But in Germany, they simply don't see anything other than a Bayern win. Vincent Kompany and the Bayern camp have been respectful vowing they won't underestimate their opponents, but the much of the noise outside the bubble predicts a whitewash.
That includes the Bundesliga website – never one to shy away from a confident prediction – who have previewed the match with the headline 'five reasons Bayern Munich will progress against Celtic.'If that sounds familiar, it's because they ran a similarly confident prediction back in November - back then it was 'five reasons RB Leipzig will beat Celtic.' The Hoops then took Leipzig apart with a 3-1 win, and fans have noticed that this time, they've stopped just short of predicting a Bayern win on the night.Sporting Lisbon, curiously, haven't been given the same courtesy.
