It looks like the 2021 BAFTAs will have a futuristic twist as they forego Zoom for a more sci-fi inspired way to allow virtual attendance.
The Academy Awards banned Zoom, making all nominees attend in person. The British award ceremony is going quite that far, as they are allowing people to phone in.
But they have a more novel way to include those who are unable to make the journey to the stadium. Nominees for this year’s British Academy Television Awards who cannot attend the 6 June ceremony can appear in hologram form on the red carpet.
Beam me up, Scotty, indeed! The incredible technology will be offered to TV stars who may be restricted due to production filming bubbles as well as fans who had hoped to line the red carpet.
