Catherine Tyldesley thanks NHS staff as mum leaves hospital after emergency surgery

Catherine Tyldesley has sent her thanks to the NHS after her mother underwent emergency surgery at the same hospital where her grandfather is being treated for coronavirus symptoms.

The 36-year-old posted a lengthy statement on her Instagram page thanking staff at Salford Royal Hospital for their hard work during an intensely trying time.

Posting a picture of two gloved hands clasping at each other, the former Coronation Street star wrote the past six days had been “horrendous.” “Mum was admitted to ICU on Friday night, needing emergency surgery.

The worry was like nothing I’ve ever known,” she explained. “I want to take this opportunity to express my never ending gratitude to our #NHS and to Salford Royal Hospital.
