Catherine Tyldesley has opened up about a 'horrendous' six-days after her mum was left in ICU. The former Coronation Street star said on Instagram that her mum Janet Tyldesley was admitted to Salford Royal Hospital on Friday night, needing emergency surgery - just a month after she said both her parents were battling coronavirus.

But Cath was full of relief on Wednesday as she finally got to take her mum home and praised the "earth angels" who are working on the NHS frontline.

She said alongside a poignant photo of her holding her mum's hand while wearing hospital gloves: "It's been a horrendous 6 Days.Mum was admitted to ICU on Friday night, needing emergency surgery. "The worry was like nothing I've ever known.
