Catherine Tyldesley has scrapped her 40th birthday party after another alleged row over free cakes. The former Coronation Street actor hired NVERLND, an events business, to organise and put on her bash.
But the 39-year-old was left sheepish when a bakery claimed they had suggested payment 'in the form of promotion'. Red-faced Catherine later took to social media to provide an explanation.
The caption was titled, 'Cakegate - The Truth' according to the Mirror.The actress told fans she had faced horrendous trolling online and insisted she always supported small businesses.
But sources say Catherine has now quietly scrapped the bash.One said: “Cath was blindsided by Cakegate and found the whole thing very upsetting so she’s decided on a quieter celebration.
