A cat babysitting for her sister made a heartbreaking blunder when she accidentally knocked a 10-day-old kitten down a drain.

The helpless kitten was being cared for by an aunt while its hungry mother went to beg fishermen for food and steal scraps from other felines in Cat Island, Japan.

In the video, part of BBC documentary Pets: Wild At Heart, the mum cat is seen wandering off and leaving her black-and-white sister in charge of her only baby.
