Thania Garcia Cassie Ventura‘s husband Alex Fine issued a statement on violence against women after a video that apparently depicts Sean “Diddy” Combs assaulting Ventura surfaced on Friday.

In leaked hotel footage posted on CNN, Combs appears to grab, shove and kick Ventura, who filed a lawsuit against Combs in November last year.

Ventura and the hip-hop mogul were in a relationship for over a decade before Fine and Ventura wed in 2019. Fine penned a lengthy letter that he shared on Instagram with the caption noting he had written it “awhile back,” but the “words ring true not just today but everyday.” The caption also included a number for a domestic violence hotline.

Fine’s letter starts by addressing its target audience — women and children. He goes on to say, “Men who hit women aren’t men.
