Carol Vorderman was joined on BBC Radio Wales by her co-star Nathan Sussex yesterday.The 59-year-old made a candid admission on-air as the pair discussed life in the 1980s.Countdown was the first programme to be aired on Channel 4 after the show made its debut in 1982.Carol revealed that she and the late host Richard Whiteley were "rubbish" during the early days of the show as she admitted they lost 96 per cent of viewers.Speaking on the radio show, the presenter explained: "There were only the three channels [at the time] but because everyone tuned in - not to Countdown - but to the start of the new channel, it was something like 9 or 10 million people tuned in [to Countdown].""So our first show made television history by being the first.
