BBC Breakfast weather presenter Carol Kirkwood quickly made her way off the set after a joke seemed to fall flat amongst her co-presenters Jon Kay and Sally Nugent, who were left rather puzzled by the exchange.
The hilarious moment arose when host Sally and meteorologist Carol had been chatting about the bright blue skies, leading Jon to admit: "It does remind you to take your coat out with you, I've left mine at home." "You haven't.
You've not got a coat with you," replied a shocked Sally, to which Jon admitted: "I have, I've been lulled into a false sense of security with the slightly warmer weather." His colleague, clearly unamused, reiterated: "You've left the house without a coat," and followed with a disbelieving "Jon," while he simply said: "Hey, it's February." Sally humorously suggested that maybe they should "just convince summer to come early.", reports the Express.
It was at this moment, that the weather expert cut in with a traditional Scottish piece of wisdom regarding the appropriate time to forego winter wear.
