Cardiff and Swansea are set to go into local lockdown on Sunday after a huge rise in infections. The Welsh Government has said the two big city council areas will be subject to local lockdowns which will begin at at 6pm on Sunday, September 27.

The town of Llanelli will also be subject to Wales' first lockdown at a town rather than local authority level with 13 council wards covered by the measures.

The new rules mean that people in all of the areas subject to the new measures: Must wear a face covering in shops if they are aged over 11.

Can no longer meet with people from other households indoors. Extended households will not be allowed and overnight stays will be banned.
