Car is flipped onto roof in crash along busy main road in Oldham

A car was flipped over onto its roof in a dramatic crash along a main road in Oldham on Tuesday (April 30). Emergency services descended on Broadway, in Chadderton, at around 11am.

The main road was blocked off, near to the Costco warehouse, after the collision. The crash involved two cars before the red Volkswagen Polo landed on its roof in the middle of the road.

Fire crews, along with police and paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service raced to the scene. The road was blocked for around an hour while the vehicle was recovered. Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for further details. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At just after 11am today (Tuesday April 30) two fire engines from Hollins and Chadderton fire stations and the technical response unit from Ashton fire station attended a crash involving two cars on Broadway in Chadderton. “One car was on its roof and firefighters worked alongside colleagues from North West Ambulance Service and Greater Manchester Police to make the cars and surrounding area safe.
