Car crushed after tractor lands on roof during smash on Scots road as three hurt

Three people were rushed to hospital after a car was left wedged underneath a tractor during a horror crash in Coatbridge. Emergency services were called to the scene on Sunnyside Road at around 10pm on Wednesday, December 28, following reports of a collision.A picture released by road policing officers shows the massive farm vehicle’s front wheels resting on the roof of the partially-flattened car.

Three people, who were travelling inside the silver motor, were rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment after sustaining minor injuries.The driver of the tractor was uninjured, police have confirmed.

A 23-year-old man, who was allegedly behind the wheel of the car, has been charged with a host of road traffic offences including careless driving.He is set to appear in court at a later date and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.A statement from Police Scotland said: “We received a report of a crash involving a car and a tractor on Sunnyside Road, Coatbridge, around 10pm on Wednesday, 28 December, 2022.“The three occupants of the car were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
