A car has veered into a verge following a crash on the M90 today, sparking travel delays. The incident took place on the busy road near Junction 1, Spur at around 7.44am, and caused restrictions on the southbound carriageway.

Police Scotland and recovery teams sped to the scene after being alerted to the smash, which involved one car. No one was hurt in the event, nor did they require hospital treatment.

A photo taken at the crash site, which was shared on social media, shows the aftermath of the collision, with the vehicle sitting stationary in the middle of the two carriageways.

An individual, presumably the driver, can be seen standing nearby. The exact circumstances surrounding how the motor came to be in such a position remains unclear.Traffic Scotland confirmed around 9am that the road was running clear in both directions, meaning commuters faced no further disruptions.
