A dramatic car fire on a motorway slip road has sent smoke pouring across the motorway as Scotland's traffic agency begged motorists to find another way home.
Fire officers descended on the blazing vehicle on the M90 southbound slip road at Junction 2 connecting to the A823 near Rosyth, Fife, shortly after 3.30pm on Monday.
Traffic camera images showed thick clouds of fumes wafting across the nearby motorway as the car burned. It is understood that an electrical fault is to blame.
The response to the fire has caused large tailbacks on the motorway and the slip road has been closed while the blaze is extinguished.
