Elsa Keslassy International Correspondent Cannes’ Critics Week, the parallel section dedicated to first and second films, has unveiled the poster for its 64th edition and has enlisted a new sponsor, the French fashion brand Ami.
The red-and-purple poster shows the pop diva of Alexis Langlois’ film “Queens of Drama” performing on stage, dressed in a flashy fur coat.
Sold internationally by Charades, “Queens of Drama” world premiered last year at Critics Week and marked the feature debut of Langlois, a French music video director.
Langlois is part of a young generation of filmmakers that “breathes new life into the art form” that Critics Week aims at highlighting as they make their “first steps onto the international stage,” said the sidebar, which is curated by well-respected artistic director Ava Cahen.
