Cannes Film Festival is back and once again it is celebration of cinema with side offering of style and flamboyant glamour, as the stars of the silver screen turned up in person.
The festival was cancelled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic and while other awards and events have had to go to virtual ceremonies, the A-listers have flocked to the south of France for the 74th festival.
Masks and hand sanitiser is still the order of the day but that hasn't stopped the rich and famous from dressing up to the nines for the opening day of the festival.
Among the first on the red carpet was 75-year-old Hollywood legend Dame Helen Mirren, who is attending the screening of Annette, which is a musical film starring Adam Driver and Marion
