The selections for the 2020 Cannes Film Festival have been announced despite this year’s live event being cancelled.

The 2020 Cannes Film Festival was set to take place in May but due to the coronavirus outbreak that sadly was not meant to be. The festival was initially postponed, but following the spread of the virus was cancelled in physical form. However, the festival will live on with the movies’ set to debut at the festival were officially unveiled this evening by Thierry Frémaux, the Festival’s General Delegate.

There will be no Palme d'Or this year. But the films picked for the Cannes 2020 lineup, which the French festival will announce Wednesday, will have a chance to win the Golden Shell, the top prize at Spain's San Sebastian film festival.
