'Cannabis grinder' Scot facing year in Middle East jail told he is 'free to go' say delighted family

drug charges has been told he can return home, his delighted family have said. Conor Howard hit the headlines in September when he was arrested by Corfu cops on a warrant from the state of Qatar while visiting his mum on the island.

The Middle Eastern country want to extradite the Tranent man after allegedly finding a cannabis grinder on him as he passed through their airport last October.

After a court hearing today, step dad Robert Young said the 27-year-old had been given permission to return to the UK.While he still faces possible extradition to Qatar, his family are confident that the hard part is now over and a deal can be worked out from Britain.The period has been a traumatic time for the family, with Conor spending time in Greek.
