Princess Anne ‘confronted’ Camilla over her use of the Queen title during a tense Coronation dinner, Princess Diana’s dressmaker has claimed.
David Emanuel alleged the Princess Royal told Camilla, "you're not Queen, you're the Queen Consort", during a meal with members of the Royal Family.
Camilla has been referred to as Queen Consort since the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September last year.The late monarch expressed in her Platinum Jubilee message her "sincere wish" that Camilla be known as "Queen Consort" following the end of her reign.
However, on the invitations to the Coronation - sent to more than 2,000 guests - she was named as Queen Camilla. David, best known for designing Princess Diana’s wedding dress when she married Charles in 1981, told Dan Wootton on his GB News show the "whole situation" regarding Camilla's new title was "highly charged". "I understood from Her Majesty the Queen, she said she should be Queen Consort," David said. "Now suddenly she's now going to be Queen. "And it's very difficult because a lot of people have told me they were unhappy about it." The designer added: "I heard that there was a Coronation dinner, obviously the King and Camilla were there, and apparently the Princess Royal said, 'You're not Queen, you're the Queen Consort'." OK!
