 Camila Cabello  and  Shawn Mendes  joined protesters on Sunday following the tragic death of Minneapolis man, George Floyd. The couple went out to show their support in Miami, where they have been self-isolating with Camila’s family, after the city opened up again following an overnight curfew. Shawn, 21, was dressed in all-black while holding up a sign that read Black Lives Matter, meanwhile, his 23-year-old girlfriend walked ahead of him waving her own poster. The artists covered their faces with protective face masks to correlate with city rules on the pandemic.

The Black Lives Matter protests continues to rage across America as it continues to gain momentum. While parts of America witnessed violent clashes, many other places saw peaceful protests being carried out. Adding some heavy weight to these protests, Hollywood celebrities have now stepped out on the streets and are making their voice heard. For the unversed, the death of an unarmed  African-American man George Floyd has led to violence and unrest by the public. Floyd died in police custody when an officer choked him to death by kneeling on his neck. On Sunday, as many as 40 cities and Washington D.C. across the United States imposed curfews.

In an op-ed written for wsj.com, the 23-year-old revealed that she suffered in silence while she came to terms with the mental health disorder. “If you look at the pictures I’ve posted on Instagram over the last year, you’ll find pictures of me writing in the studio, pictures in a hallway in a bomb-dot-com outfit before going onstage to perform, pictures of me cuddled up with my dog, Eugene, on a couch, and pictures of me bursting with excitement to play you my music,” she wrote.

The singer wrote an essay for WSJ Magazine in which she opened up about her struggle with OCD and anxiety throughout the years. Camila Cabello admitted that she did not want others ‘to find out that [she] felt weak’ but now, it sounds like she is ready to get candid about her mental health.
