Karla Camila Cabello Estrabao (born March 3, 1997) is a Cuban-American singer, songwriter, and actress.
She rose to prominence as a member of the girl group Fifth Harmony, formed on The X Factor (U.S.) in 2012, signing a joint record deal with Syco Music and Epic Records.
While a part of Fifth Harmony, Cabello began to establish herself as a solo artist with the release of the collaborations "I Know What You Did Last Summer" with Shawn Mendes, and "Bad Things" with Machine Gun Kelly, the latter reaching number four on the Billboard Hot 100.
Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes joined a Black Lives Matter protest in Miami on Sunday. The pop star couple joined demonstrators protesting the death of George Floyd, a 46-year-old Minneapolis man who died on Monday after a police officer held him down by the neck with his knee.
Camila and Shawn, who have been self-isolating with her family in Florida, took to the streets hours after the city opened up again following an overnight curfew, announced to keep people off the streets following violent clashes between cops and activists.
Mendes, 21, held a Black Lives Matter sign above his head and his 23-year-old girlfriend walked ahead of him waving her own placard.
