Cambuslang Rangers star Kyle Maxwell is almost certainly out for the rest of this season, as the stricken midfielder faces an MRI scan.Maxwell dislocated his knee last weekend, forcing the abandonment of Cambuslang’s home West of Scotland League Premier Division clash against Troon.Maxwell had been moved into midfield to replace Tony Stevenson, who is already out with a foot injury, and former Rutherglen Glencairn striker Kit Cummins tore a calf muscle after one game.Co-boss Billy Campbell admits they don’t have problems to seek, and said: “We’ve been trying to get another couple in.“We signed Kit Cummins, we got one game out of him, and then he tore his calf, and we lost Kyle with that knee injury last week, so we’re struggling with bodies.“I think Kyle is waiting on an MRI and heading towards an operation, by the looks of it.“He dislocated his knee and it’s gone back in, so he has ligament damage and we’ll be lucky to see him before the end of the season.“Tony Stevenson is still carrying an injury in his foot and Kyle had gone in to centre-mid and was doing well.”Campbell added: “We’re up against it, but we’ll just try again this week to get a coupe in, because we need bodies in to help us – even to make effective changes.“We only had two subs on Saturday, two young lads who have come in to help us.“It’s a difficult time to get players in with the amount of games that are left in a season, but we’re struggling for personnel.“We could do without that now, with regards to the position that we’re in.”Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onTwitter via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInstagramfor the latest sports news, pictures and video.
