Calvin Harris might have achieved international fame as a DJ but fans might be surprised to learn that his name is not his real one.
The This Is What You Came For star - who has worked with the likes of Rihanna, The Weeknd, Dua Lipa and Ellie Goulding - was born Adam Richard Wiles, growing up in Dumfries.
The Scottish star, 37, decided to change his name when he got into music, preferring something that would complement his "soul" track.
Revealing his decision to alter his moniker when he was 22 years old, he told Shortlist: "My first single was more of a soul track, and I thought Calvin Harris sounded a bit more racially ambiguous. "I thought people might not know if I was black or not.
