A callous woman snatched money from a pensioner at an ATM before he fell to the ground and fractured his hip. The victim, an 81-year-old man, had to have surgery after becoming involved in a 'struggle' with thief Jody Ainsworth.
The victim had travelled in a taxi to the Post Office Pub on Market Street, Farnworth at around 1.20pm on May 12. He then left a few hours later to go to a bookmakers and then to an ATM machine to withdraw £250.
CCTV footage revealed the victim at the cashpoint at around 4pm, with two females seen standing behind. One of them was 33-year-old Ainsworth, who was seen 'moving closer' before then snatching the money out of his hand. Ainsworth then got up and left the victim on the floor injured, with hospital scans later revealing he had fractured his hip which required surgery.
