Caitriona Balfe is opening up about a misconception on how Irish people celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! The 42-year-old Outlander actress talked about the holiday while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday (March 2) in Hollywood. Jimmy said that his parents recently went to Ireland and that they discovered the holiday is not a big deal in the country. Click inside to check out her response… Caitriona revealed that’s not the cast and she said, “We would have parades and stuff!” She does have an issue with how Americans refer to the holiday though.
She said, “But it’s funny when I moved here, people used to call it, ‘St. Patty’s Day.’ I’d like to just say, it’s not. It’s, ‘Paddy’s Day,’ with two, ‘ds.” Jimmy then said, “Why?
It’s Patrick, not Padrick.” Caitriona then corrected him and said, “It is! It is Pádraic!” Check out photos of Caitriona on the red carpet two nights earlier.
