A man was stabbed after challenging a group of youths who were smashing the windows of a house. The victims, in his 20s, was taken to hospital with an stab wound to his arm following the attack in the early hours of Saturday, the Liverpool Echo reports.

He's said to be in a stable condition. The incident happened around 3.30am in the village of Leasowe on the Wirral. Police are looking to find the group of youths who ran from the scene. At around 3.30am, it was reported that a group of five or six youths were smashing the windows of a property on Kingham Close. "A man aged in his 20s was then involved in an altercation with the group and he sustained a stab wound to his arm.

Emergency services attended the scene and the victim was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition. It was reported that the youths made off from the scene on foot and an investigation is ongoing to find them." Police believe that a neighbour came out to help the victim following the incident and they are appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened to come forward.
