UPDATE: The fun and games of the Burning Man festival continues to deteriorate. Now, one person has died, and reports circulating indicate a pit of misery, as a lack of food, water, and muddy conditions have made the event’s Nevada playa location into a hellhole.

The death happened “during this rain event,” the Pershing County Sheriff’s Office said, according to a KNSD report late Saturday.

No details were provided on the cause or the victim’s name. “As this death is still under investigation, there is no further information available at this time,” officials said in a statement.

One report indicated comedian Chris Rock and DJ Diplo walked six miles through the mud to escape the disaster, eventually hitching a ride in the back of a fan’s pickup truck.
