mirror.co.ukA burglar put his hand over the mouth of a petrified two-year-old girl to stop her screaming for help during a terrifying raid at her family home.
The break-in involving two burglars took place in the town of Redditch, north-east Worcestershire near Birmingham on Thursday.
The pair managed to steal valuables but fled when they were confronted by the family's pet dog. Police say they sneaked into the house through an unlocked patio door shortly after 11pm - despite the lights in the house being on.
The tot was downstairs and one of the robbers grabbed her and put his hand over her mouth before she had a chance to cry for help.
