The devastated mum of a teenager who took her own life said she discovered bullies had been making her daughter's life 'a living hell' after her death.
18-year-old Macie Vella was found dead at her dad's home in Skelmersdale, Lancashire just after 11pm on July 26 last year after arguing with her then-girlfriend earlier that night.
Macie had been staying at her dad's house in Berry Street while he was away. An inquest held last year heard how Macie, a former pupil of Up Holland High School and Scarisbrick Hall School near Ormskirk, had struggled with mental health issues since the age of 10.
There had been incidents where she had self-harmed when she was as young as 13 and on one occasion she took an overdose at school, LancsLive reports. Macie, who had secured offers at five universities after passing all her exams at college, had been prescribed anti-depressants but she had stopped taking them.
