Buckingham Palace has refused to comment on Meghan Markle's latest business venture, American Riviera Orchard, amid concerns that it may violate the agreement she made with the late Queen Elizabeth.
The Duchess of Sussex's new project, which some believe is a revival of her old lifestyle blog, The Tig, launched with a promotional video showing Meghan baking in her kitchen and caring for her dog at her large Montecito home. Before stepping back from royal duties in March 2020, Meghan and Prince Harry made an agreement with the Queen that they would not use their royal titles for financial gain.
However, American Riviera Orchard does promote "products" to its subscribers.A royal expert has suggested that the timing of the launch, which coincided with Prince William's attendance at the Diana Awards in London, was not a coincidence.
The Prince of Wales presented awards at the ceremony in London, leaving around 8.15pm before his brother Prince Harry made a separate online appearance.Interestingly, just before William arrived at the event, Meghan released the online video for her new venture.
