Buckingham Palace have issued a statement of guidance for mourning Queen Elizabeth by the Royal Family and households. The nation has begun 10 days of national mourning following the death of the Queen yesterday (8 September).
Members of the public have gathered outside the Royal residences to pay their respects. The statement reveals that the King wishes for the Royal Family to observe a period of Royal mourning from now until seven days after the Queen's funeral.
This will only apply to members of the Royal Family, Royal Household staff, and Representatives of the Royal Household on official duties. This period of mourning for the Royal Family is separate from the 10 days observed by the public, starting today - full details are expected to be released later on Friday.
