Bruno Fernandes has sent a clear message to Manchester United teammate Manuel Ugarte. The United midfielders are currently away on international duty representing Portugal and Uruguay, respectively, with both players finding the back of the net on Friday night.
For Portugal's 5-1 Nations League win over Poland, Fernandes played a pivotal role, and he scored a stunning goal from 25 yards out which bounced over the line off the crossbar.
Just a few hours later, Ugarte repeated Fernandes' feat, but under very different circumstances. Moments after Colombia looked to have snatched a point, by levelling the game at 2-2, Ugarte fired home off the bench in the 11th minute of added-time to dramatically hand Uruguay all three points.
The defensive midfielder has endured a mixed start to life at Old Trafford, but that could soon change with the arrival of Ruben Amorim.
