Broxburn Boxing Club has golden touch at Scottish Development Championships

A trio of Broxburn Boxing Club members proved they have the golden touch by winning Scottish Development Championships.The boxers all won their final bouts by unanimous decision with club coach Andy Leask speaking about his pride at the club’s trio of success stories at Ravenscraig.He commented: “All three boxers won by unanimous decision in the final, which is incredible.

And they all carried out the gameplan perfectly. It’s a testament to the hard work that the guys put in and they deserve their success.

I’m extremely proud.”He added: “They all had difficult bouts against good boxers but they were in brilliant form.“It’s fantastic for themselves, for their families and the club as well.

It’s incredibly inspirational for our boxers to see that there’s three national champions at the club. It gives them something they can look up to and strive to achieve.”Lomond secured the 57kg 2006 title thanks to victory over Regan Stuart while teammate Billy Currie got the better of Jamie Robert Lee.Cameron, who last year won the Scottish Open Schoolboy title, picked up gold in the 65kg 2008 category after defeating Jacob Robertson in the final.Andy added: “We worked hard on a plan with Lomond because we knew he was slightly smaller and he executed it brilliantly across the two bouts.“Cameron is a front-foot guy and pressed the issue and was on point with absolutely everything.
