Broxburn Athletic boss Stevie Pittman admits he’ll get a kick off of facing Livingston in a friendly – and joked he’ll get somebody to stick the boot in on son Scott when the sides face off.Lions defender Scott Pittman - who played for Broxburnb for three years from 2011-2014 - will be up against his father’s side on Tuesday, June 25, in a pre-season clash against the East of Scotland League champions and newly-promoted Lowland League outfit.Former Partick and Dundee defender Stevie, 56, reckons it is a fitting reward for his team’s successful season and says there will be plenty of father-son rivalry on the go for the Almondvale clash against David Martindale’s men.Stevie said: “We play Livingston on June 25 up at their stadium and it will be open to the public, so that should be good.

I’ll maybe get somebody to kick my laddie as well! It won’t be a nice family day if he wins, we’re definitely competitive.“Davie is a good pal of mine and if you get offered a game like that you’ve got to take it.

The players will love it up at their stadium so it will be good for all of them. It will be a nice wee reward for our players for all they’ve done this season.”The Livi match will be Broxburn’s first pre-season clash as they prepare for life in the fifth tier next season and Stevie says all their pre-season tests will stand his side in good stead for the step up.He added: “Our pre-season games include Stirling Albion and Bonnyrigg Rose as well, so we will have some tough games to prepare us for next season."We did that last season and I think that helped us.

We knew what standard we had to hit to be successful so hopefully it is the same again. It will help the players get mentally stronger as well.”
