Brooke Vincent appeared to be feeling emotional as she revealed she was supported by a Coronation Street icon during her big return to Greater Manchester.

The actress has been back and forth to her home city as she travels the country in her first-ever stage role. It was announced back in November last year that Brooke, 31, would be making her stage debut by starring in the late Kay Mellor’s final stage play.

Like the BBC show of the same name it is the story of five supermarket workers whose lottery syndicate numbers come in just as their jobs and livelihoods are under threat.

It is being directed by Kay’s daughter and former Emmerdale actress Gaynor Faye in her late mum's name with Brooke starring alongside Gaynor and former Emmerdale star Samantha Giles.
