State Department declared Brittney to be “wrongfully detained,” before she was convicted. On Saturday, The Moscow Times reported Russia has officially acknowledged it seeks convicted arms dealer Viktor Bout to be a part of an exchange deal.
He is a Russian arms dealer who is serving a 25-year sentence in the U.S. and has earned the nickname the “Merchant of Death.” President Joe Biden made a statement shortly after Brittney was convicted on August 4.
