Lewis Capaldi (born 7 October 1996) is a Scottish singer-songwriter. He was nominated for the Critics' Choice Award at the 2019 Brit Awards. In March 2019, his single "Someone You Loved" topped the UK Singles Chart where it remained for seven weeks, and in October 2019 it reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100. On 17 May 2019 he released his debut album, Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, which remained at the top of the UK Albums Chart for six weeks.

Lewis Capaldi left BRITs viewers baffled after he was booed by the crowd during his speech. The 24-year-old appeared on stage to present Dua Lipa with the award for MasterCard British Album of the Year.

He walked on stage to the audience applauding him, only for him to tell them to "shut up" multiple times before he greeted them: "Hello motherf***ers." Producers rushed to mute his mic before he went on to say: "I'm f***ing s-", only to be muted again.
